A Letter From The 2020 STEP NY Co-Chairs

Dear STEP members,

We hope that you and your families are all safe and healthy during these unprecedented times.  It is extremely sad to see the loss of innocent lives around the world to this terrible virus, but it is also extremely inspiring to see the brave health care workers who work tirelessly to care for those who are ill.

We are all getting used to working remotely and connecting with our clients, friends, and loved ones via new technology, like Zoom, Facetime and Skype.  In some ways this situation is bringing many of us closer together, but I am sure we are all looking forward to the day when we can resume coming together in person.

Along these lines, we have arranged for our upcoming programs to take place as webinars until further notice. Register now for our upcoming webinar on April 23rd from 12-1 pm on Matrimonial Law and International Cross-Border Planning. Hopefully this will enable us to stay as informed and connected as ever during this crisis.

On a slightly different note, as many of you are aware, Jeryl Pine has been STEP NY’s administrator since its founding.  In many ways Jeryl is the heart and soul of STEP NY.  Most of us cannot imagine our organization without Jeryl. With that said, it is with a heavy heart that we inform you that Jeryl has decided to “retire” so that she can spend more time with her family.  We are all going to miss Jeryl at our events and wish her all the best.  It is unfortunate that we will not be able to have a last in person meeting with Jeryl where we can honor her and give her our well wishes. But we know she is in all of your thoughts and you can certainly reach out to her directly.

While someone with Jeryl’s knowledge can never be replaced, we have found an excellent “substitute” for her in Kristin Beane and her small team at her company, Endeavor Consulting. Kristin has already been working with Jeryl behind the scenes and they are working side by side until the end of this month.  Please join us in welcoming Kristin and her team as they transition into this role.

We look forward to interacting with all of you at our upcoming webinar and hope to soon see all of you again in person.

Best regards,

Edward Devine & Glenn G. Fox, STEP NY co-chairs
