Lyat advises international clients on cross border estate planning issues including the establishment of trust structures and private international laws relating to estate planning and succession. Lyat provides services in connection with probate and inheritance proceedings in Israel to Israeli residents and non residents owning assets in Israel. Ms. Eyal also provides pre-immigration planning advice to new immigrants as well as Israelis returning to reside in Israel relating to trusts, including taxation of trusts. Lyat was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1998 and practiced law at the New York law firm of Faust Oppenheimer, LLP until 2003. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association Trusts and Estates Section and International Section as well as the Tax Specialists Group (ITSG), a STEP Israel Member and an Academician of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law
Philip Munro, UK, Partner, Withers Worldwide
Philip is a Partner in the Private Client and Tax team. He currently works in London and has worked in both Hong Kong and Singapore. His practice focuses on succession planning for international families, as well as implementation of estate plans for individuals. Philip frequently acts for trustees and financial institutions in relation to trusts planning matters. In recent years has been involved in the administration of cross border estates.
Jean-Marc Tirard, France, Co-Founding, Tirard Naudin
Jean-Marc Tirard is the co-founding partner at the Law Firm of Tirard Naudin. He is recognized as an authority in French and international tax law and has considerable experience in tax and estate planning for French and foreign high net worth individuals
He began his career with the French tax administration before moving into an advisory role. He has more than 40 years of experience advising French and foreign companies and private clients on domestic and international corporate tax issues, negotiating with tax authorities and handling tax litigation. He has published numerous articles and books on these subjects. He is the author of the French chapter of “The International Guide to the Taxation of Trusts” published by the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation.
Jean-Marc Tirard is the co-founder and former chairman of the French branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). He was also chairman of the Tax Commission of the French Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce and co-chairman of the International Tax Committee of the same organization. He is a member of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law and a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.

Christian von Oertzen is based in Frankfurt, Germany, where he is a partner of Flick Gocke Schaumburg. He is a qualified lawyer (Rechtsanwalt) and a certified tax lawyer. His areas of specialization are national and international estate planning and succession planning, tax and corporate-law advice for family-owned businesses, the structuring of private wealth, expatriation and immigration planning, law of foundations, associations and not-for-profit organizations, and executorships and probate matters.
Christian is a member of the practitioners’ board of the “Zeitschrift für Erbrecht und Vermögensnachfolge” (ZEV) (Journal of Inheritance Law and Estate Planning), the International Academy of Estate and Trust Laws, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and of the International Section of the New York State Bar Association.
Nicola Saccardo, Italy, Partner, Maisto e Associati
Nicola Saccardo is a Partner in Maisto e Associati. He obtained a Degree in Business Administration from the Bocconi University in Milan, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Taxation from the University of Leiden (The Netherlands) and a Degree in Law from the University of Brescia. He is admitted to the Bar and to the Association of Chartered Accountants. He is a member of the Executive Council of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law and Chair of its Tax Committee. He is also a member of STEP Italy and a member of the International Client Satellite SIG Committee of STEP.
His areas of expertise comprise international and EU tax law, taxation of trusts, estates and HNWIs, taxation of private equity funds and their transactions and taxation of financial instruments.
