Join us for Leveraging Situs and Modern Trust Laws for Non-U.S. Families on November 4th at BDO.
This panel will examine how advisors use U.S. trust situs and modern trust laws for flexible, multi-generational wealth planning for non-U.S. families. Discussion will be directed generally to the laws of boutique trust jurisdictions and how they unlock planning opportunities for families globally, rather than on comparing the differences between the separate boutique jurisdictions (i.e., AK, DE, NH, NV, SD, WY). Topics include key structures such as dynasty trusts, directed trusts, and private family trust companies, along with how they support family governance, asset protection, and tax efficiency as well as strategies for promoting fiscal responsibility and charitable giving within the family. Practical insights from panelists on how they incorporate such would be encouraged, for example, what are drafting tips and practical considerations for beneficiary quiet provisions or what powers do you typically provide trust protectors, etc.
