MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR
Welcome back from the lazy days of summer! I will say that our summer programs didn’t feel so lazy though – we had record turnouts for our brown bags focusing on tax reform! Our thanks to the Baker & McKenzie New York team (Glenn Fox, Simon Beck and Paul De Pasquale), and to Carl Merino of Day Pitney, for leading some excellent discussions with our members. We are truly lucky to have such strong local talent.
Speaking of local talent, we know that all of you have something to contribute, be it ideas, meeting space, sponsorship or time working with a committee. Our thanks to all of our committee members who volunteer their time. If you wish to get more involved, we would welcome your participation. Also, if you have an achievement that you would like to highlight, please let us know (by emailing our Communications Chair, Carly McKeeman, at email@example.com) so we can add you to the “members in the news” section of our website!
Our first fall event, Cryptocurrencies: The Estate Planner’s Dilemma, will be held on September 27. We look forward to seeing you there and catching up as we head into the last part of 2018. I’ll admit that I constantly feel behind in the fast moving crypto world, and I’m looking forward to catching up through this STEP program!
The rest of our fall schedule of programs and events is available online here: https://www.stepnewyork.org/category/events/.
Thanks for your support of STEP New York, and see you at an event soon.
On behalf of all of the STEP New York Board, we look forward to collaborating with all of you this year. See you at the next event!
